She delves into the boundless potential of materials through playful experimentation with techniques, crafting ingenious expressions with structural textures and colours. Blending functionality and artistry, her designs stimulate curiosity, bringing a refreshing delight to daily life through captivating, expressive forms.
A graduate of Tama Art University in Tokyo with a BA in Textile Design, she worked for ISSEY MIYAKE as a textile and bag designer for seven years. In 2021, she expanded her creative practice by exploring glassblowing and ceramics in Denmark. Since 2022, she has been based in Rotterdam as MAORI KIMURA DESIGN STUDIO.
